Here are three money making ideas for kids. All of these possible businesses can be started with just a little bit of money. Of course, if the profits are reinvested they can become much bigger enterprises.

Fishing Worm Business

This might be one of the easiest of these money making ideas for kids to try. Of course, it helps if you are near an area where people fish. First, you should visit a bait shop or other place where they sell worms and nightcrawlers to see how much they sell for. Then locate the best lakes or streams where the fishermen are going regularly (make a note of the best times).

Where do you get the worms? Check the lawn after a rain, for starters. Also, in some areas there are hundreds of night crawlers all over the sidewalks after a summer shower. Dig under wet piles of leaves to find them too. You can start without any money if you save plastic butter tubs and coffee cans to sell the worms in, and later you can use your profits to buy nice Styrofoam containers with lids.

If you want to make more money, invest your profits into a good book on how to breed night crawlers, plus the equipment to start a little worm farm. Produce a steady supply and you might be able to sell them to a bait shop. Though they will pay less than the fishermen, you may make more because you can sell so many at once and spend more time “farming” worms than trying to sell them.

Sell Hand-Painted Rocks

Where we live here in Colorado, many people have painted rocks they use for decorative doorstops or paperweights. If you live in an area where you can get nice smooth rocks, you can make them yourself and sell them. Paint them with flowers, or with people’s names, or look around at what other’s have done. Your parents can help you buy the right paints, and set the prices for the finished rocks.

If you want a bigger business, you’ll have to delegate some of the work Pay other kids for each good rock they bring to you, and find an artistic friend you can pay to paint them. That way you can get busy selling more. You might even get a gift store to sell the rocks for you if you give them a good percentage of the money from each rock.

Fix And Sell Bicycles

Older kids who like to fix things can get books that show how to repair bicycles. You can start by learning how to repair your own. See what people are paying for used bicycles, by going to yard sales and looking at advertisements in the classified section of the newspaper, and take notes. When you know what the bikes should sell for, you can start buying broken ones to fix.

Buy them cheap, and let everyone know what you are doing. People may give you old bicycles that they were going to throw away. Also, during spring clean-ups in some towns people throw away bikes, and you can take these from the junk at the curb, if that’s okay with your parents. I once met a man who collected sixty bikes in one day in this way.

Of course you’ll need to have a little money to buy parts and old bikes when you start, unless you have an old bicycle or two in the garage. Once you make your first sale, use the money to buy more bikes and any parts you’ll need. Sell the bicycles in front of your home with a simple signFree Reprint Articles, or you get your parents to help you place an ad in the paper if you have some expensive or popular bikes.

Copyright (c) 2008 AIM Fundraising

The suggestions that follow may seem trivial but they work. It addresses the core reason why some schools do better than others even with all other factors being equal. It is easy when planning a new fundraiser to focus on the wrong things. Here are five of the right things to focus on.

Below you will find five things that a school or group can do that will greatly affect how much money is raised with their new fundraiser:

Step #1 – Profit Percentage Does Not Equal Profits.

A company offering 90% profit vs a company offering 20% profit is not necessarily a better deal for a school. One thing to keep in mind is that banks do not accept deposits of percentage. Every bank I know of accepts only money. Most schools look at profit percentage as the number one priority when choosing what they will pick for their next new fundraiser. What I am saying here does not mean profit percentage is not important, but it should not be the school’s first and only priority when choosing their next new and unique fundraiser. It should be the school’s number one goal to raise the maximum profit possible with the least amount of hassles!

Step #2 – The Product You Sell Does Make a Difference (But Not As Much As You Might Think) Coming up with the right product for your new fundraiser does make a difference, however, it is not the most important factor in having a successful fundraiser. You have probably seen this in your own neighborhood, how two schools decide to sell cookie dough and they both sell them at the same time and the same price. But the difference in their results (Profits) were HUGE! Because of this, you could come to the conclusion that it is not the product which made the difference. So what is it that makes the huge difference? Hint, see Step #5!

Step #3 – Time Your Fundraiser as Early In the School year as Possible

When you kickoff your fundraiser is a very important aspect of it’s success. It is an undiputed fact that the first school who’s sales brochure goes into an office or neighborhood has higher sales than the one that comes last. However, timing is not the #1 reason why schools have successful fundraisers. Hint, see Step #5!

Step #4- Pick a dynamic person to head up your new fundraiser!

The excitement for a fundraiser starts with the person at the top. The person organizing the new fundraiser sets the tone and the level of the excitement and affects participation in the sale. Yes, the fundraising sponsor’s attitude and enthusiasm have a very important role in the outcome of any new fundraiser.

Step #5- Program Management (How the fundraiser is run) is the Number One factor in it’s success.

Program Management is the most important element on having a Successful fundraiser. You may know that “How” the school fundraiser is run is critical to it’s success, but the main problem is not many fundraising companies train the fundraising sponsors on proper “Program Management.”

Following are several key elements on Program Management:

A) Setting Goals for the School

B) A Memorable Kick Off

C) Maintaining Excitement for the Duration of the Sale

D) Finding Helpful Volunteers

E) Motivating the Students/Sellers

F) Motivating the Teachers and Staff members to Promote the Sale.

To get the HIGHEST sales on a new fundraiser the students/sellers must be properly motivated. You can even go so far as to provide motivation for teacher/staff members too.

The main reason why one elementary will make $8,000 while another similar school will make $15,500Computer Technology Articles, is the way they did their prizes/incentives for students and for their teachers!

We at AIM have a saying “Students could sell $5 bills for $10.00 and do real well if you motivate them good enough.” The most important part of your fundraiser will be to provide incentives that truly motivate your students and teachers to participate in your sale like they have never done before! A measly 15% increase in participation can very easily double the typical school fundraiser. Increasing participation by 15% is not a hard thing to do.

Remember when we were kids and our parents put us in those very popular one piece plastic costumes? What torture. You couldn’t breath through the mask let alone see, and God forbid one of your friends pull the mask back and snap it against your face. Then there was the non-breathing plastic one piece suit that tied up in the back. Forget running or lifting your arms or you were sure to put a big rip in it, ruining the rest of your evening for the heartbreak.

Costumes have come a long way since then. There are many different materials and styles to choose from. We no longer have to put our children in a plastic heatbox, but we must also remember we have to keep the children warm. Many of us live in areas where Halloween can be a frosty night where our childrens teeth are chattering while they going door to door. The best thing you can do is make sure you buy the costume big enough to put a full warm wardrobe underneath, but not so big that they are tripping over it. A turtle neck and sweatpants or leggings are a wonderful idea.

Fancy shoes for those princess dresses are a waist, as most kids don’t make it three to four houses before the shoes are pinching their feet and they want to take them off. We know what that’s like, don’t we ladies? Army boots don’t let the poor guys ankles bend and they end up crabby and unhappy. Gym shoes are the best, they are safe and comfortable for running house to house.

For infants, a one piece bunting style costume are one of the best ideas. Make sure there are no pieces in the costume that may harm the child. The companies may put the product out there, but it is your job as a parent to make sure it is safe. Don’t bother dressing an infant in princess costumes or pirate costumes that will be uncomfortable for them, they will only cry the whole time. Instead think of a nice warm fuzzy animal or a sweat pea. Most of those types of costumes comes with bonnets that will also keep the infants head covered and warm.

Most of the time a toddler has an idea of what they want to be, it’s just a matter of guiding them in the right direction so you both will be happy. These little guys and gals are in the in-between stage where the little froggie costume would still be cute, but you could also do the fire fighter or cow girl. Once again remember their comfort and warmth for the long hall around the neighborhood.

Young boys and girls like to look, “Cool for School” and those Halloween parties. Most schools will not allow masks and that’s what most of the boys costumes have. In this case a cool fighter pilot or astronaut with official looking nasa patches would be great for your little guy, and an easy to put on princess gown or cheerleader costume would be great for the girls.

What ever size child you have, please make sure they are warm and have a bright enough light with them to keep them safe. People get a little crazy at that time rushing from house to house and driving to neighborhoods they are not familiar with to find that pot of gold for their kids. Keeping them safe is the best thing you can do for them.

Halloween is almost here and there are chances that you will be attending or hosting a Halloween party and will have to find a costume.

Being a big-sized person, whether that occurs because of maternity or because of some other cause, has some disadvantages and one of them is when the calendar comes around Halloween. Halloween costume themes are slightly problematic to find for this specific category of people. However that does not mean that there is no solution and that you won’t take part to the holiday.??? Halloween costume themes may be harder to find than for other people, but they are not impossible to find and if you are a little imaginative and humorous in your approach you will surely find a lot of things that are worthwhile themes in the end.
???
For instance, if you are pregnant, why not precisely attend the Halloween party as a pregnant woman???? This kind of costume may be considered by some as a bit of a cop out, but you can do something to it to turn it into a very special costume.??? For example, if you search in the newspapers and notice a renowned celebrity that is pregnant, you can do your hair, make-up and outfit up to look like that famous person, you surely will have a lot of fun walking around the party all night and and so acting like that celebrity for the pleasure of the other guests at the party.??? This is a good example of taking a less than optimal situation and turning it into something highly possible.
???
Animal are also good costume themes for people that are big-sized.??? Whatever animal costume will do at last, but if you feel like having a bit sense of humor with the occasion you may decide to go as an animal that people frequently use as an insult to plus sized people.??? These animals include things such as elephants and hippos and obviously when you narrate the story of your costume you can toss that in for good measure.??? Sense of humor may get the better of a lot of negative circumstances in life and the Halloween costume theme is only one of the many ways in which that is manifested.
???
FinallyHealth Fitness Articles, another very special and probably unique Halloween costume theme for overweight people is to attend the party as a gangster.??? In a majority of contemporary films that deal with the crime syndicate there are all of the time some people in the gathering that are overweight and if you decide to copy one of those fictional characters you would unquestionably win big on the evening.??? This uncommon suggestion has the added benefit of simply needing you to brush your hair a certain way and wear a suit and thus is a costume that can be created entirely at home without you having to go shopping for long hours and buy anything.
