When waiting to see what the gender of your baby is going to be, the Chinese conception chart is a fun way to get a guess. This chart has been around for many centuries and is said to have been found in a royal tomb. It is now in the Beijing Institute of Science in China on display.
The chart is not completely accurate. The method of determining gender uses the woman’s age and month of conception. The most accurate results use lunar months instead of the regular months. These months run about 29 days.
When the chart is broken down into age and conception month, you get an idea just about what you will be having anyway. That is if you are taking the chart seriously. The age range on the chart is 18 to 45. The best ages to be more likely to pop out a girl according to the chart are 21, 22, 30, 31, 32, 34. The second best ages are 19, 24, and 33. The best ages to have a boy are 18, 20, 23, 26, 31, and 43. The second best ages are 25, 27, 36, 37, 41, and 44. If you are 28, 29, 35, 40, 42, or 45, there is a 50% chance of having a boy or girl.
The conception months on the chart are not as diverse as the ages, but there are some odds to take into account. The odds of having a boy are 3 to 4 in January, February, May and October, and an outstanding 9 to 19 in July. The odds are 15 to 13 of having a girl in June, August, September, and November, and 3 to 4 in April. In March and December you have the same chance of having a boy as you do of having a girl.
When looking at the spread you can notice that boys are more common when you look at the ages, but when looking at the conception month it is fifty-fifty. Of course, there are the many ages and couple of months that are a fifty-fifty chance anyway. It is curious thing to notice when pregnant at what age you are not only the month you conceived but the odds of it being a boy or girl at any month.
The Chinese conception chart is a fun thing to use when pregnant. It is interesting to find out if the chart was correct or not. It is always curious to look behind the chart at the overall chances. This is not scientific though and has no basis other than to have fun. Although, it sometimes proves accurate that does not mean you should get your hopes up that whatever you fall into will bring you a boy or girl. Do not get ahead of yourself when using this chart. Always

Women love ways of guessing what gender their baby will be. A fun way to learn of your baby’s gender is with the Chinese Conception Chart. It is an ancient chart believed to have been found in a royal tomb over 700 years ago. Now, the chart is said to be on display at the Beijing Institute of Science in China.
The chart is not completely accurate. The method of determining gender uses the woman’s age and month of conception. The most accurate results use lunar months instead of the regular months. These months run about 29 days.
You can just look at the ages themselves and come to an idea whether or not you will have a boy or girl or not. The ages are ranged from 18 to 45. On the chart the ages more likely of having a girl are 21, 22, 30, 31, 32, and 34. If you are 18, 20, 23, 26, 31, or 43, you are more likely to have a boy. However, there are some ages where there is no higher percentage of one more than the other. These ages are 28, 29, 35, 40, 42, and 45. If you are 19, 24, or 33, there is a 7 to 5 odd that you will have a girl. It is not as definite as the other ages but it is still more likely than having a boy. The exact opposite of having a boy with the same odds 25, 27, 36, 37, 41, and 44.
Based on the conception month the odds on what sex your baby will be change. The months do not have as many one way or the other odds. January, February, May, and October each have 3 to 4 odds of being a boy. April has a to 3 to 4 odds in favor of being a girl. June, August, September, and November are all 15 to 13 in favor of a girl. March and December both have a fifty -fifty chance of your baby being a boy or girl. The only odd month is July where the odds are outstandingly in favor of having a boy at 9 to 19 according to the chart.
The chances of having a boy or girl varies from age to conception month. In some areas it is predictable, but like with the actuality of having a baby it really is fifty-fifty. The odds when looking at age vary a little more than conception month. Either way, the chart leans more towards having a boy than girl. That may be just the Chinese’s obsession with having boys, though.
When using the Chinese conception chart, it is good to remember that it is all in good fun. It is an entertaining way to get a guess at your baby’s gender. Sometimes the chart proves true, but it is not 100% accurate and in no way scientific. So, use this chart for a bit of entertaining
, but not for getting your hopes up about how to design your baby room.

In the past, families depended on their children to participate in household chores. Today, parents talk as if its a chore to require their children to participate in the maintaining of the household. Managing a house full of people is easier today with the addition of household appliances, convenience foods, and for those who can afford it, housecleaners and fast food. Its a wonder we need help at all. So, why request your children to do chores? Because children need to feel useful, need responsibilities, and need to be trained for adulthood.
Most parents agree that they should expect their children to do chores. Its the creating and maintaining a system that they find difficult. Although some parents are organized and use daily chore lists, I have found that when I put together chore charts for busy families, most parents fail to enforce them because of their active lifestyles. As a parent, I have tried the chore chart system as well but I, like my clients, need a system as fluid as my lifestyle. So, Ive designed the Chores-On-Demand system.
Chores-On-Demand is a system in which parents daily ask their children to do whatever chore is most pressing and the children are to respond quickly and without complaint. For instance, Bruce comes home with his daughter Allison and notices that the trash and recycling needs to be taken out. He has to start dinner so he says, Allison, before you get started on your homework, I need you to take the trash and recycling out. Allison says, Yes Dad, and she takes the trash out and 5 minutes later shes working on her homework. At the end of the week, Allison receives an allowance not only for the chore but also for having listened to and responded to the request of her father. This is a great system for busy families who rarely have a set schedule, parents who are disorganized, or parents who have tried and failed at the chore chart system.
There are some special tips that go with this system:
- Be sensitive to the timing of requests. If a child is in the middle of homework, the request should wait until the end or be given as a when youre finished with your homework request. If your child is enjoying television time, the parent should wait until the end of the program or make it an at the commercial request.
- Pay only for chores that involve the household. Do not pay for regular responsibilities such as keeping ones bedroom clean. It is possible to designate certain chores that are expected because one is a member of the household and then name special chores that qualify for allowance. However, the Chores-On-Demand system works best when it is kept simple.
- Pay up front for the work that is to be done during the week. Put your childrens allowance in a glass jar at the beginning of the week so they may see it and know that it is there for them. However, the money is not actually given to them until the end of the week. Build responsibility into the system by telling them that, although it is their money, they will be require to pay back part of their allowance to you for everyday they do not do their chores, since you will be the one who will have to do them.
- Remember, parents are trainers. Chores need to be taught patiently and kindly just like anything in life. Training does take time but it is part of your job. Children are capable of so much more than we sometimes allow, and they feel wonderful when they discover that they can do something meaningful for the family. So take the time to teach.
- Ask your children to do chores. If a parent does not ask, it is not the childs fault and thus he should still get the allowance anyway. Parents have to train themselves to ask. You might want to put a note on the refrigerator to remind yourself.
How do you implement the Chores-On-Demand system?
- Molly sits down with her daughter, Ashley, who is 10, and explains that she could use some help around the house.
- Molly asks Ashley if she would like to earn some money. Ashley agrees.
- Molly points out that household chores are a part of life and to be a successful adult one needs to know how to take care of a home inside and out. In addition, now that Ashley is older, she should be responsible for some of the upkeep since she is also a part of the clutter created by daily living.
- Molly explains that because of their busy schedule, she doesnt always know when and what needs to be done in the house. Thus she will use a Chores-On-Demand system. Molly explains that this system means when she requests a chore to be done that Ashley does it.
- Molly says that she will be respectful and aware of Ashley when she asks but that she will expect Ashley to do the chore at that moment or within a few minutes of the request without complaint.
- Molly shows Ashley the $1 bills that she will be pay her. She explains that she will put the money in the jar on Monday morning and if she does her chores without hesitation or complaint that she can keep all the money and pull it out of the jar by Saturday.
- Before the Chores-On-Demand system begins, Molly makes up a list of chores that Ashley can do and adds a few more that she commits to train her for on Saturdays.
The Chores-On-Demand system works for so many families who are challenged by the chore chart system. Not only do children get the benefits of feeling like responsible members of the family
, they also learn to respond to parents the first time they are asked because the system is always in effect.

A behavior chart, also called a behavior modification chart can be used in classrooms and hospitals for measurement the behavior of the children. Behavior charts are made according to a program which has to be achieved. If it is achieved, the children have done well. If not, there were some problems in their behavior and class activity. Behavior charts are basically done for the child. Children can acquire attentive attitude towards their own behavior and can improve their activity in class, when they look at the results of their classmates, who have done better results.
Behavior chart means that the children pay attention to their way of doing things. If you grab the childrens attention, you already win the battle. When they start to pay attention to their activity, they also start to take care of their behavior. Competitiveness between the children is very strong: if the kids see that someone is doing well on the behavior chart, they will try to be like him/her.
Behavior charts can be a little scary at the beginning. Some children are really nervous and if they are presented with an evidence of how they behaved, and if they are given a place at a top 30, they really get anxiety problems. Thats why you shouldnt be so strict with them, and explain to them that behavior charts are something meant to help them improve themselves. Tell them they dont need to feel stressed at being assessed like that. A behavior chart provides them only with a necessary information about how to improve themselves, so they should pay attention to it and not get offended by the results.
Some behavior charts can lead to rewarding the kids that did well. This can be very motivating for them , but excruciating for the others. Thats why the rewards should be neutral. In some schools the rewards are points which they can spend in a token economy on various treats. They can get extra recess, treats, or the right to use the best toys. When a group has collected certain number of points, they get a pizza party, or another group party, which is considered the cherry on the top of the behavior chart. When you put a child in a group, he or she starts feeling part of it
, and gains as many points as he/she can. Thats why group work is considered the best when it comes to behavior.

A new chart scrutinizes excess gain during pregnancy. This weight gain pregnancy chart is prepared based on sufficiency of maternal weight in face of height. This is indicated by a modified table for average frame size of women. The data is taken from a low-income population that is racially-mixed and resides in New York City.
There is a monogram, along with the chart. It is used to determine percentage values of “standard mass” at different gestational ages. The chart sets up a desirable mass near term. It is equivalent to 120 percent part of “standard mass” for those women, who had a pre-pregnancy weight either 100 percent of “standard gain” or lower than that.
For those women, who had pre-pregnancy weight more than 100 per cent of standard, the desirable mass near term differs as per the original weight. However, for those women who had pre-pregnancy weight more than 120 per cent of standard, it includes a least put on of about 7 kg. Those women who obtained or went beyond the body mass near term, equal to 120 percent of “standard gain” delivered babies with considerably greater mean birth weight than those women who failed to meet this target. These women were from low income populations group residing in the US and Chile.
Weight Gain Chart
The average breakdown that is gained during this time is as follows:
Baby 5-7 lbs.
Placenta 1.5 lbs.
Amniotic and Other Fluids 6 lbs.
Increased Blood Volume 4 lbs.
Uterus 2 lbs.
Breasts 2 lbs.
Fat Stores 7 lbs.
Total 15-35 lbs.
Healthy Weight Gain During Pregnancy
There is no standard mass that works for all women. However, as per the chart, the healthy put on is anything between 15-35 pounds (7-16 kg). How much exactly you need to gain during the nine-month phase depends on not one, but many factors.
According to a recent study, underweight women should gain the maximum mass in the healthy range. This amounts to 35 pounds. On the other hand, overweight women should gain the least from this range. This amounts to 15 pounds. For women having healthy pre-pregnancy weight, they need to gain somewhere between 20-25 pounds.
Take the help of weight gain pregnancy chart and keep an eye on the pounds.
